Reading School District, in the city infamous for earlier being identified as the poorest in the nation, is scrambling to meet its payroll obligations because of an accounting snafu that overestimated the district’s revenue by $15.6 million. (h/t Huffington Post) (WFMZ-TV) UPDATE: Kristin Boyd, spokeswoman for Reading School District, says these news reports are false and the “payroll was never in jeopardy.”
