A new word for Merriam-Webster. A new study suggests that ‘cyberbaiting,’ or the act of taunting or pushing teachers toward their breaking points and then recording their outbursts with cell phone cameras, is on the rise. (TODAY)
We stand corrected. A couple of weeks ago, we wondered why Wisconsin lawmakers were pushing legislation that would allow for teachers to lose their licenses if they view or download porn on their school computer. But it’s apparently needed in California. (CBS News)
Secrets no more. The 21 judges picked to review the applications from states seeking waivers to No Child Left Behind were previously kept secret. Now, their names have been released. (Education Week)
Um, scratch that. Oklahoma education officials back-pedaled on a new rule they approved last month that would have required school districts to provide supplemental online courses for topics that weren’t already available in school. Since last month’s approval, districts have called state board members to say they were financially unable to meet the requirement. (The Oklahoman)
