		<description>In most fields, including teaching, the interview is a shot-in-the-dark system for selecting talent.  In some fields, the interview has taken a back seat to a demonstration of skills required in the profession, which is how it should be in teaching.  For instance, in acting, candidates audition, and in journalism, candidates share press clips.  For teaching positions, candidates should present 1-2 demonstration lessons and provide a portfolio of written lesson plans.</description>
